Windows Is Unable To Update Hardware Devices After Installation :-




(A) After the complete installation of windows, when it configure the PC for first time by checking system device, some time it is seen that the process taking time for a long period. Here user should restart the PC and observe the rest of the processing. If the same problem exist then user must try with the another EDO or SD RAM or DDR RAM module by changing. Even the problem might be existing in the Motherboard because WINDOWS can not update the drivers for motherboard components.

(B) The HDD track '0' might be corrupted, for which NDD or DE can be run.


CD ROM Drive



(C) User can also try with the another CD or CD ROM drive because internal '.CAB' file or Windows CD may be corrupted for updating system devices or the CD ROM drive speed is not compatible with the writing speed of that CD.

Shutdown And Display Problem



(A) The present generation Mbd(Motherboard) is suppose to use the flash ROM BIOS. So at first user must check the Normal/Clear CMOS jumper settings. If the jumper is set at the normal position, then display may not come after power on the P.C.(Personal Computer), for which user must set the jumper to Clear position to coming display after power on. ( The important point is that power dose not come after switch on in ATX SMPS until the standby/ suspend button from toggle switch of cabinate is set at the standby/suspend position at Mbd end.

(B) The shutdown massage of windows dose not appear the ATX system. In the normal cabinate/SMPS, this massage may not appear also, for which ACPI (Advance Configuration Power Interface) function must be checked from power management option of CMOS setup.(Enable/Disable).

(C) Sometimes display dose not come also after the actual settings of CMOS jumper, in this case the CPU core voltage from the "CPU PNP" option from CMOS setup must be detected. then user must check the battery voltage and flash ROM BIOS voltage (5v,8v,12v) from Mbd.

ATM Loading Problem

ATM Loading Problem :-




    This DTP software creates the problem for windows 2nd edition- (system hangs intermittently and desktop icons can not be open) changeover problem from windows to DOS mode vice versa, most of the times explorer dose not responds for opening different system application and directories sometimes "top type keyboard installed"  message appears on the screen when any application is running or just already to open the "start button key" from keyboard dose not initialize even if the pointer is not activated (here by substitution "CTRL+ESC" is the alternative) etc.




    
    This problem is not arised in windows 98 first edition.

 The above problems are under (R&D) for windows-NT environment.

Display Resolution Problem


(A) The color resolution setting might be changed from the original one. So user should reset the actual color settings including pixels and desktop area.

(B) The actual OEM of display adapter card must be known to the user, for which the driver files will be installed for the adapter.

(C) User can also try by removing present OEM of adapter from "system" and to restart the PC for new configuration of display by finding new hardware.

Display Resolution Settings


(D) User can also try by running "safe mode" from where the actual resolution can be set and restart the PC.

(E) If all the attempts failed, then user must be cautious about the background, which is some time is not compatible with the pixel settings and desktop area. Again there is also a possibility of damaging the V-RAM and loose contract of 15 pin monitor display cord with the display port.

Semi conductor

What is a semiconductor ?


 Semiconductors are matter having conductivity in between conductor and insulator.All matters form of atoms.Atom consists of nucleus (a tiny place where all mass and positive charge is included) and electron, the negatively charge particles.In metals ,in general, due to thermal excitation of the room temperature the electrons of outer shells become detached from the atom and moves randomly inside the metal.This electrons can never escape from the metal until energy is incident on them from outside.These electrons are called free electrons and gives rise to current electricity when a potential difference is maintained at its ends.In case of insulator these free electron can never be generated.And in semiconductors these are generated with increase in temperature.



   
   Actually this difference between conductor,semi conductor and insulator can be well explained by band theory in solids.According to the theory electrons in crystalline solid are present in energy bands.In other words the energy levels are not fine, they forms bands.The valence band is full of valence electrons.The free electrons stay in the conduction band.The energy difference of valence and conduction band is called the forbidden gap.This gap is largest for the INSULATOR.In METAL this two bands overlap; as a result electrons are always present in the conduction band. In SEMICONDUCTOR the gap is nearly 6.0 eV i.e in between conductor and insulator.   

After Switch On The PC Power Is Not Coming



(A) Check the main AC source of the supply line.

(B) Check continuity of earth, neutral & line with respective point of the plug & check the AC power of the power cord.

(C) First switching on the PC, check that the fan of SMPS Is moving or not.

(D) If the fan is moves, that means AC is rectified through the transistor ckt. of SMPS.

(E) If fan does not move that means there might be the problem in transistor ckt. or the fan-power connection loosely connected.



(F) After this the power dose not comes to the PC, the first suspected problem exist in the diode rectifiers ckt.

(G) Check the +5 or -5 volt and +12 or -12 volt DC powers of the connectors.

(H) If all above condition of checking give the result ok, in that case check the soldering connection of 12 pin power connection of Mbd (Motherboard) back side. Even check the continuity of each 12 pin connection.

(I) If the all above condition are ok then obviously the Mbd DC power conducting line trips the DC power from SMPS.

(J) In this case, near the Mbd power connection there might be the combination of resistor & capacitors, which can be cut out.

CMOS Setup Mismatch And CMOS Check Some Error

  




   Here the battery of the motherboard should be checked whether it shows 3 Volt or 3.5 Volt. Then user should modify the CMOS set-up option for any error in the CMOS and must be saved. If that problem exist any more, then the battery connection with the circuit board and continuation line from battery to another end must be checked. For "CMOS check some error" their only solution is replace the CMOS IC (Integrated Circuit).
